Martin Townshend has been a private sax teacher for many years, and was sax teacher for evening classes at the City of Leeds College of Music for several years. He is currently a teacher with Artforms, which is part of Leeds City Council children's services.
Martin is a Graduate of the City of Leeds College of Music, where he studied sax, flute and clarinet. He holds the Certificate of Teaching from the leading international examination board, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (CtABRSM).
Martin Townshend plays an active role in the musical life of Leeds, conducting the North Leeds Jazz Orchestra, which is based at the North Leeds Music Centre.
Whether his students prefer classical, jazz, folk or other styles of music, Martin encourages them to join one of the many bands or orchestras in Leeds when they are ready.
